HI ...
May sound simple from the title ..
but would be nice if vray changes the name of the light by type ..

I can't see why... The icons are already changing. What would be the interest ?

yes .. i can see the icon .. but if you had like 50 area lights ..
and you forgot to organize them .. you might wanna know where is the mesh type or the
dome ..sphare types .. whit out wasting time looking for the light in the scene !

don`t forget ;-) use null objects to group lights.

well i think you have to make wish to BIG BROTHER )) since if it will be implemented in SDK, it can be used for vray too.

Well if you need it, I needed C.O.F.F.E.E practice... I wrote this plug ...
VrayLightTypeRename (http://www.ov3rconcept.com/Ressources/C4D/VrayLightTypeRename.rar)
Simply unpack it in your plugin folder. Access it from the plugin menu.
P.S. : only works on the 3 first levels of hierarchy ... but, this should be enough ...

Hi mike, and what about your VrayProxy Generator to VrayProxy File script? Did you achieve to do it?
Not yet I had very hard times to finish some jobs.
This is still in my field of work. I'm working on different tools that I'll put on this forum when they're finished. VrayProxy File script needs some more research to work correctly, and I had underestimated it.
I'll post it as soon as it is ready.
