Thank You. my exemples rendered about 10min on my core 2 quad processor.

just to be sure i'm doing this right, because it ain't working here
after 10min. on a 2,8 quad-core, he's still buzy doing the LC (didn't change anything)
- the lug & gazon are empty nullobjects (right ?)
- so i make a landscape and i drop it in the nullobject
- what kind of subdivision does the landscape need
- i d/l a jpg from the list and drop it in the grass material diffuse....
anything else ?
Edit i changed the DM from 0 to 6000, but no speedbump...

nullobjects, because many polygons = big file size =) nullobjects have tags. put it on your landscape object. my landscape was 500x500 polygons
last "-"... you do it right =)

hi ichi.one!
my tuned settings from 2vgroup:
rendertime about 4 min with xeon 5680, 24threads
physical sky, lwf, reinhard 0.8, stefanīs preset 23
the thing that bothers me is that with a lightdome the spec-infor of the vfur-material totally gets lost... weird, gonna show a lightdome-example later on..

arrrh, still no luck, see screendump
the problem is the LC it takes for ever
yes i've changed the DM to 6mb & have the right amount of cores in the LC
8 or 16 (tried on 2 different computers)
as you can see the LC only uses 1core = 100% it should be just under 800 or 1600%

update the LC is now finished (tried a smaller bit)
also the IR is very slow and only uses 1core :treaten:
----------
grass fur001 & simplefur exemple from the fur starter pack renders fine
the LC uses 500 to 700% cpu power
but no luck with the one from this thread

thank you...
whta is the meaning of "gazon" and "lug"?
gazon - lawn (lawn grass)
lug- meadow field

thanks...
i havent tried the file yet, but: try to reduce the hairs/area, f.e. by 5 and use your grass plane 5x (use 5 copies), and vary the grass a bit.
i did some grass on my own, and it was much faster to use 5 planes with 100 hairs, instead of 1 plane with 500 hairs...
good luck

yes, you can animate any object in vray flicker free with GI. vray fur are normal (very optimized) objects.
you might need good AA if the fibres are very thin. it might be good to raise the min value to 2 and of course for animation always smoothing no sharpening filters.
there was a very nice example here form one user rendering an animated fur grass animation as test. maybe use the search function to find it.
