Nice, well done. Can't really pick any faults. Looks like you got a really nice AA setting. What did you use?

choppir

Thanks!

AA - Adaptive DMC -> Max = 1, Min = 8, Threshold = 0.01

Did you use a filter or just left it as standard DMC?

Hi Rikki,

No filter. Just standard.
It took 1h26 to render.... :D

thanks edum!

Physical sun + sky.

Gi = IM + LC on medium quality
IM = -3/-1, Hem 50, Iterp S 30
LC = 1000

Renderend with exponential Colour mapping... :D

looks good, nice textures, could up the colour a bit in the spot colour floor tiles,

have you tried the camera from eye level?
think the leaves are great, but do you have some autumnal trees for the background?

also the glass looks a bit flat on the left...perhaps get something to reflect in it a bit...

nice though...

Really nice design for the addition, and the use of the leaf clutter is a nice touch!

where did he say he used a physical camera? and whether he did or not, the settings aren't relevant without knowing his general lighting rig settings, which is the important bit.

i think physical camera's are overrated. i never use them. any lighting changes i need to make are through the main lighting rig which is just as flexible, but truer than a vray camera.

that must be it. it's quite a mucky connection.

The mucky bit is flashing likely made with easily worked lead-coated copper (typically a dull gray finish) to wrap around the curved surface and follow the pitched roof. That is a difficult waterproofing job. They cut a channel in the curved wall for a "reglet" and stick the edge of the l-c copper into the channel and inject sealant flush with the wall. I will not bore you with the rest.

Up close there should be surface irregularities from handling the flashing and some color variations. Otherwise, this is what I would expect to see this kind of flashing detail.

Hey! Wake up out there! This is important stuff! Sheez. :twisted: :wink:

beautiful. great sense for details and a nice overall mood with all the shadows.

would be interesting to see the impact of e.g. synclanczos filtering on both the render time and the details of the ground texture.
