Hi, i'm workin on a new scene and have some questions.
Here are two pics, 1st one is enabled DOF then the 2nd is not as you see. DOF increases the render time about 7min+. i dont know if i make mistakes somewhere. or it's normal?
phyCam.. f-nuber:4 SS:40 iso:200 DOf :0,95 sub:6
Also,
i think the water is not perfect. the tiles under water seem blurry, need to be done more sharpen but how ?

last one is about the window glass. i think some things wrong but i dont know what it is.
and other mistakes u see...need your advises. thanx
respects you all..

The water looks like a pool I want to jump in straight away. :)

DOF will increase your rendertime. But I believe how higer the rendersettings how less xtra time is needed to render the DOF.
Vray team, Correct me if I'm wrong.

Peace,
Rich_Art.

The blurry tiles look good to me. You could try messing with the refraction, but that wouldn't look right. The window glass is fine, although maybe just a touch too reflective?

thanx. how can create realistic and fast grass? i dont think so displacement is not a good way to create it, is it?

For grass I have recently dropped all bump and displacement maps! I don't think using them gives as good results - it can often look plastic. I have aquired some decent grass textures from ambilentlight.co.uk or made my own and then play with adding different types and intensities of noise in layer for the difuse channel to give them an uneven look and take away any obvious tilling. This seems to work well for all but close up shots. Then Photoshop is always your friend for adding more interest in the grass once you have your base render.

I've seen decent grass using displacement, but haven't gotten it to look good myself. I have used ambientlight's products, too, and never been disappointed in the results. (Nice guy, too.)
