View Full Version : Materials : crash when moving objects across scenes [fixed in 1.2.5.6]
There's a crash bug when you move objects from one scene to another when the scenes have different scales.
C4d also crashes when adding Vray materials from the content browser. The current project must have the same unit scale as in which the materials were created originally.
R12 of course.

we do not have that here. neither the one nor the other,
please send me an example per email with the files, bug report etc
i have "copy paste on different scales" reports form 3 people, but it is also from other non vray plugins (that might be a maxon bug) , for many others seem to work. we have told maxon already and also checked the plugin itself for that.
from content browser i have no report and also works here.
i wait for your email then...
thanks

I can confirm this. Content browser will alway crash for me if the Scale in the scenes are different. If I am not careful it can happen to me many times a day as all of my scenes are in inches.
All of my old scenes are modeled in inches but Cinema didn't really have a scale system before v12. When I open an old scene Cinema defaults to centimeters.
My work around is make sure I open the old scene change the units to inches, save. Then I can copy & paste and merge from the content library.
It's a nasty little bug because it will instantly crash Cinema and you will lose your work.

so you mean old files not fiels from another unit....
ok i check that, i have not used old libaries yet. files normally i can copy paste. i know from other plugins that there are crashes in v12 with pasting objects some time. we will try to find out if c4d or our plugin related(maybe both)
arjo please send me an exampel file that crashes, i cant get it here myself.
thanks

Hi Stefan,
I will send a file, but I was running out of time. I've to deliver a storyboard for an animation today. So no time to cause crashes.
As soon as this is finished I'll crash C4D and take a break ;)
