I have the ivy generator and let me tell you.....i thought "hey this is a great alternative to Vue xStream" especially since I.G. is free.... it is so hard to use!! And when you import, you better have Riptide since IG only exports in OBJ format..lol.

But if you have the time, it is pretty damn cool....

Thanks!!! :)

I definitely don't agree. It's very very simple.
But i don't want to look smarter than i am ... The reason for this is
Tim Ellis' great tutorial for I.G. and MW, it's a very helpful "i'll take you by the hand and show you every little step"-type tutorial.
And fortunately he used C4D for it.

And i definitely agree about the need to use Riptide!

Hi zoppo,

Welcome to VrayForC4D country. I have seen you at both MW and Fry forums. I know you will find that the VfC team has done and are doing a fabulous job bringing Vray to C4D.

I went looking for Tim's I.G. tute at MWR and could not find it. Got a link?

Hi,

Ivy Generator works like a breeze... no need for riptide as wel.
Just point to the right textures through the material channels needed and there you go. So it's easy to pimp up the ivy the way you want... just use custom maps.

I posted some VrayForC4D ivy materials in the material section.

Enjoy

here are the materials!

Just keep in mind that you have to point your materials to one of the tree Selection Sets: branches, young leaves, old leaves... in C4D

the ivy generator is free and EASY to use, and you dont need riptide. you just need to use it and get used to it. i use it in my c4d imagery very often :)

This software looks great, but everytime I import an object I made in c4d, the polygons are messed up (sometimes some polygons are missing).

how do you guys do the export/import correctly ?

obj

I know that it works only with obj
but even if I'm making just a cube in c4d and export as obj (wavefront), than import it to ivy generator - I get the cube in triangels and half of them are missing...

OK, I found what's wrong - I have to make the object triangulate in c4d before exporting....

yes, sorry, forgot to mention, triangulation is needed :)

had the same problem, maybe the export-plugin is broken ?!?
I export the geometry from C4d as *.3ds, import it in 3dsmax-demo and export as *.obj from there ... that finally did it

Or just try sketchup ... hope this helps
