A few questions about this little wip:
1/ There is a problem with the glass on the table next to the chaise - any suggestions on how to improve it? The glass is a refraction layer + reflection layer recipe.
2/ How do I get a real white on the chaise and the doors and frame? The diffuse layer color is 235, 235, 235 which is the recommended max, I believe.
3/ How would I add some dirt to the exterior wall?

Great start, on the glass use two different materials one for the edge and one for the rest of it. Lose the reflection layer and use two specular layers, the first specular only and the second Trace Reflections only and use Specular Layer Fresnel set to 2.5 or adjust to suit the scene. Keep Specular Colour set to 100% white and the transparency to around 90% on the Specular only layer. The bump Maps on the Fabrics inside look a bit heavy and out of scale but the rest is looking Good :D

looks great, use AO separate layer for dirt (and layer it in photoshop)

don`t like Ivy it`s made with generator? Looks to flat, and have strange growth direction.

and in left corner floor suddenly disappear.

To adjust the white, did you set 235,235,235 and move the brightness up to 100%. By default the brightness is 80% and therefore you have curved off the white and then curved off again with the brightness, thus a gray color.

Alternatively, you can use 255,255,255 and move the brightness to 92%, that should create white, but not too white!

I agree about the bump maps on the fabrics are too high depth.

The glass is an odd issue. Is the geometry correct? i.e. are the normals facing the right way. Does the refraction layer have volume enabled? I would ditch the reflection layer and use specular. Use a fresnel specular for specular only, with a blinn type. Use a blin or ward type specular with reflection only (no fresnel).

@ marshalartist, I will try your glass idea. Thanks for pointing out the fabric and its bump map, I was not sure what to do there. I will adjust it. Thanks.

Edit: Just checked, the bump is set at -20"/-508mm!

@ Tong, on the AO, I am not too skilled with ps but my guess is layering it there will give me greater control. Will try it out. You are right, the ivy is flat and I will work on it. The strange growth direction is due to no cutout in the decking for it to grow out of. That will be fixed. The left corner will have some kind of an object to conceal how the deck ends there which means I have to get a little clever. Thanks.

@ rikky, yep all 235 at 100%. Early on, I thought Stefan said whites should not exceed 235 +/- because 255 was not possible in reality. I will crank it up to 255@92% (which when multiplied equals 234.6 [ ;) ])

The glass geometry is and normals are correct but it does have a beveled edge. Yep, volume enabled. I will ditch the reflection layer and try the specular way with blinn or ward. Thanks.

Bon weekend all!

This little guy is finished. Learned lots on this strange project and VfC has made it a lot easier and fun. Thanks to the VrayForC4d team.

looking good.

I got one crit ... and this would be the plants ... i would put the diffuse texture in the luminance channel and adjust brightness to fake a translucent effect.

It also seems that the walls emitt lighting or illumintate the scene somehow.

Thanks for the tip, Antimatter. I will definitely try that; they do look dark even though I played with the settings.

The walls are Diffuse, Specular and Bump but no Luminosity. I have an infinite light for the sun, a sky and one cheat – a reflector just to the left of the rounded part of the structure to improve the wall shadow.
