View Full Version : any frame buffer tone mapping?

If i recall right the MAX and sketchup versions of vray gives you some control over the tone mapping/exposure of the final image - i think just like adjusting the levels before it is output to tiff or jpeg etc. Firstly is this correct and secondly do we have this option in cinema vray?

There's the color mapping tab for this, but I'm not sure it's the same as the Max version?

yeah i was thinking once the render had finished and before you saved the final output so you could play with the unclamped colours to brighten or darken the image. Would be very useful.

as we support the cinema shader system at a full level, the support of this maxvray framebuffer was not possible yet. i hope in updates or that we built a similar function in the c4d buffer.

ps. it is anyway better to make the right tonemapping before render, as the tone or colormapping also influences the gi solution. it is no "post" effect.
